Bill Behrens

Bill became a partner of Sanford Rose Associates in 2006 and concentrates in healthcare services. Bill brings 25 years of health care administrative service expertise to the executive search process and heads the group's Mount Pleasant office.
Bill has been the Chief Executive Officer for several of the largest and most renowned medical group practice organizations in the country. He has acquired and merged physician practices, developed strong working relationships with local hospitals and created large PPO's and other joint ventures with hospital and physician entities, which benefited both hospital and physician. He has been the CEO for a non-profit orthopedic foundation whose mission was to assist the local hospitals with the education of medical students, residents, and fellowship physicians in training. This organization was also heavily involved with clinical trials for many of the pharmaceutical companies, as well as beta testing new medical durable equipment for several of the large device companies. He was also responsible for the fund raising component of this non-profit organization. Bill has also raised venture capital for several healthcare startup companies, and has assisted them in the organizational and operations development of their businesses.
Prior to joining Sanford Rose Associates, Bill was a principal in a development company which assisted physicians and hospitals in the development of medical offices, diagnostic services, MRI and CT, to include specialty hospitals and Ambulatory Surgery Centers. Bill was instrumental in starting, developing, and raising the necessary capital and taking a physician practice management company public in the mid-nineties, and growing the business from a startup to over several hundred million dollars in just 13 months.
Bill received his undergraduate degree from Alderson-Broaddus College and has a Masters in healthcare administration from the University of South Carolina, and has graduated from the Wharton School of Managements Executive program. He is a member of Medical Group Management Association and is a Certified Medical Practice Executive.
